Together with La Roche-Posay, we launched a pilot project for the collection of packaging «I Carry Changes». Until December 31, 2021, everyone can return bottles, vials, and cans of cosmetics to the project partner pharmacies. In exchange for packaging, responsible shoppers will receive branded eco-bags or discount coupons for La Roche-Posay products.
You can return the package to partner pharmacies in 12 cities of Russia. An interactive map with all collection points can be found on the official project page.
Within the framework of the project, you can hand over clean bottles, vials and jars of cosmetics with the markings:
• 1 PET
• 2 HDPE
• 5 PP
Before delivery, the packaging must be washed and shrank, labels must be removed from it. The project accepts cosmetic packaging of any brands. Detailed information on how to understand if the packaging is suitable for recycling and how to prepare it can be found on the promotion website.
All the packaging collected during the campaign will be processed at the Tver Polymer Recycling Plant. Useful materials will be made from packaging, for example:
• Packaging marked with 1 PET will be used to make fiber, which is used for geotextiles and road surfaces, or PET-tape for transportation of construction materials and large goods;
• The package marked 2 HDPE will be used to produce pipes for water and gas pipelines;
• Products for household needs will be made from packaging marked 5 РР.
The pilot project will run from April 19 to December 31, 2021. Together with our partner, we plan to develop it into a permanent initiative, expand its geography and types of plastic accepted.
The La Roche-Posay brand is a responsible manufacturer striving for sustainable business development in Russia and the world. By 2025, the brand plans to increase its use of recycled plastic in its packaging to 70%, which will save 10,000 tons of plastic, the equivalent of 140 million plastic bottles.
